John Smith is a United States Marine Corps Combat veteran and passionate advocate for the military-connected community across Texas. As the Southeast Texas Regional Manager for Combined Arms and the Texas Veterans Network (TVN), John leads regional coordination of veteran resources, events, and partnerships that directly impact the lives of thousands of veterans, transitioning service members, and their families.

With a deep understanding of the challenges veterans face after service, John specializes in building strong networks between nonprofits, government agencies, and community partners. He is the creator of VetConnect, a statewide series of community engagement events that connect veterans to services, employers, and each other through powerful in-person gatherings.

John’s leadership extends beyond logistics—he brings heart and humor to his mission. Whether he’s coordinating disaster response, leading food and resource distributions, or rallying community volunteers, he never loses sight of the importance of connection, trust, and shared purpose. His approach has made him a trusted leader among veteran-serving organizations across Southeast Texas.

Combined Arms is a Houston-based worldwide nonprofit that streamlines the connection between veterans and the resources they’ve earned. Combined Arms unifies access to veteran services by creating an interconnected network into one data-driven platform. Through collaboration with nonprofits and state and international organizations, the platform drives network-wide efficiencies and transparency, ultimately improving the well-being of veterans and military families.

The Texas Veterans Network, powered by Combined Arms and supported by the Texas Workforce Commission, is a statewide collaborative of veteran-serving organizations working together to deliver comprehensive services through a shared technology platform. TVN ensures that no veteran falls through the cracks by connecting them to the right resource at the right time, regardless of where they live in Texas.
