The panel will provide an insider’s perspective on the priorities emerging from the convention\, reflect on the successes and challenges of the 89th Legislative Session\, and preview the key issues expected to shape the next legislative session. We will hear directly from our three experienced legislators and gain valuable insight into the policies and priorities that will impact Texas in the years ahead. \n\nState Representative Dr. Greg Bonnen\nDr. Greg Bonnen has represented Texas House District 24 since 2013 and currently serves as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. A practicing neurosurgeon and Chairman of the Board at Houston Physicians’ Hospital\, he combines medical expertise with legislative leadership on healthcare\, education\, and the state budget. Throughout his tenure\, he has earned recognition for his work on fiscal responsibility\, public policy\, and conservative governance. Dr. Bonnen lives in Friendswood with his wife\, Kim\, and their family. \n\nState Representative Terri Leo Wilson\nRepresentative Terri Leo Wilson represents Texas House District 23\, serving Galveston County\, Chambers County\, and surrounding coastal communities. Before joining the Texas House\, she served three terms on the State Board of Education and spent many years as a public school educator. Throughout her public service\, she has focused on education\, parental involvement\, and strengthening Texas families. She brings decades of experience in both education and conservative leadership to the Texas Legislature. \n\nState Representative Dennis Paul\nRepresentative Dennis Paul has served House District 129 since 2015\, representing communities throughout southeast Harris County. A structural engineer and small business owner\, Dennis is a strong advocate for economic growth\, infrastructure\, property tax relief\, and the aerospace industry. During his time in the Legislature\, he has championed initiatives supporting Ellington Field Spaceport\, coastal protection\, and Texas’ engineering and energy sectors. Dennis and his family are proud lifelong residents of the Bay Area and remain deeply involved in the community. Rep. Register by Monday the week of the meeting and join us! \nJudge Mark Henry was elected in 2010 as the first Republican County Judge elected since Reconstruction. He ran on a promise of bringing in a new era of county leadership – lower taxes and reduced spending. Since then\, Judge Henry has delivered on every one of his promises. He’s cut taxes below the No New Revenue rate every year totaling a reduction of nearly 50% and paying off nearly 60% of the public debt. Judge Henry’s push for fiscally conservative budgeting led to Galveston County receiving its first-ever Aaa bond rating – becoming only 1 of 10 counties in Texas with such a perfect rating and one of the only counties along the entire Gulf Coast of the United States with a perfect rating. \nIn Texas\, County Judges serve as the Director of Emergency Management for their county. During his tenure\, Judge Henry has risen to challenges thrown at him from hurricanes and winter storms to COVID-19. He was one of the only County Judges in Texas who protected individual rights and liberties by not closing down businesses or issuing mask or vaccine mandates. \nAs a 21-year Air Force Veteran\, Judge Henry is deeply committed to veteran issues. In 2013\, he created\, at that time\, the only all-veteran staffed Veterans Treatment Court in the United States. The court serves as a diversion program for veterans who need help with service-connected illnesses rather than putting them through the criminal justice system. As a result\, the Texas Veterans Commission named Judge Henry as “one of the greatest veteran advocates in the whole State of Texas.” During his service in the Air Force\, he served in the classified area of Space Operations and taught at various military colleges throughout the United States. \nA fifth-generation Texan\, Mark was born and raised in the Houston area and is a graduate of the University of Houston. He’s owned an aircraft parts business in Galveston County since 1995 and is an authorized seller to the U.S. Government. \nJudge Henry is now in his fourth term as County Judge and resides in League City with his wife Amy and their 9-year-old twin daughters\, Brinkley & Hartley.
