Thomas J. Maffei is a licensed Peace Officer with the state of Texas, employed by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office. He is currently assigned as the Uniformed Operations Division Captain. He currently oversees the Patrol Division, Special Operations Division (Crime Reduction Unit, K9 Unit, and Traffic Unit), along with the Tactical Operations Division (SWAT/CNT). Prior to being promoted to the rank of Captain, he was assigned to the Law Enforcement Bureau as a Patrol Sergeant. Capt. Maffei was also a member of the Galveston County Sheriffs Office Special Operations Group (SOG) where he served as a team leader, assistant commander and SOG commander. Prior to joining SOG, he was a member of the Special Response Group (SRG) where he also served as a Team Leader.

There will be a K9 & handler from another dept attending with Capt. Maffei. Pleae keep in mind that this K9 is a working dog and not a regular pet so please don’t engage but feel free to ask questions! We look forward to seeing you all.
